About Soft Play in Hastings
Hastings and the wider East Sussex 1066 Country area have a surprisingly strong soft play offering for a coastal town of its size. The combination of a significant local family population, consistent tourist trade, and regular coastal weather means demand for indoor play is steady year-round. Hastings has several well-regarded venues that serve both local residents and families visiting the town.
Venues in Hastings range from commercial indoor adventure centres — particularly in the Ore Valley, St Leonards, and Bexhill areas — to smaller community play spaces and toddler cafés serving the Old Town and residential parts of the town. Several venues benefit from the area's popularity as a weekend destination from London, which sustains good quality standards.
Soft play pricing in Hastings is broadly in line with the South East — expect to pay £6–£10 per child. Under-1s are free at most venues. Summer is the busiest period as tourist families look for indoor options when the beach weather is unpredictable. Booking ahead is advisable for weekends and school holiday periods.
For SEN-friendly options, check individual venue pages. Birthday parties at Hastings venues typically start from around £120. Our directory covers Hastings and extends to Bexhill, Rye, Battle, and the wider East Sussex area.
The 1066 Country makes Hastings a popular family destination — a soft play session is an easy complement to a trip to the castle or the Jerwood Gallery.
